Fragrances Of The Soul

There is this place inside where nothing much happens, and yet all seems to take place there if we can build the bridge and be silent.

Many people talk of dissolving the Ego, a talk that I don’t necessarily agree with because of the equation: To meet the soul – we have to take down the ego.

It maybe has to do with the internal direction of:

Ego – Soul and Soul – Ego.

It is not a one-way direction as many see it –  it is a loop.
The soul transcends the ego and overtakes some part of the personality and we experience that as evolving since we feel or feel others getting in better touch with themselves. At least that is maybe how we describe it. And that is ‘transcending the ego’ of the inner realms.

Maybe before we kill the ego: befriend it, the ego is not the enemy – the shade of the soul might be. Ego has been a survival mechanism in times of hardship for many, so there actually is much to be grateful for.

So, seeing the ego as an alien entity is a bit silly.
In the context of time, I think we put on more and less the ego we would have use for, in each life we live. In some lives, the ego might be solid as concrete while in other days in another time, under strange lit skies – light as a feather, it depends on the life-lessons in our Dharma.

Many talk about karma and equal it with: Times gone by that we now have to account for. That is somehow right. But maybe they forget, that we produce karma every day, so there’s canned karma and then there is fresh from the market karma, so the actions we take every day, the thoughts we make, the feels we feel – loops into our future and will integrate in a new ‘ego’ next time around.

So what lives on and get strengthened?

Obviously not the ego – but the soul – the diamond in the rough? I think it is.

The soul is just not that loving entity , at peace with the God Force or the big epic light at the end of the improvement tunnel as it is advertised to be by default. It has the hallmarks, yes – but that is not the whole picture.

Each soul has qualities:

Warrior souls, meek souls, kind souls, fierce souls, rambunctious souls, rebel souls. I think it’s fair to say that it wasn’t Gandhi’s ego that brought down the English empire, it was his soul.
A revolutionary soul spiced with social indignation. A lot of us have that. The ego isn’t the only shadowy entity here – the soul has spices too, and if we think we did the work on the ego -shadows, we are in for a treat when we find out that the soul has even more potent versions to bring to the table.

We talk about: troubled souls, dark souls, hateful souls as well as the loving, kind and embracing souls.

So in this loop of communication the soul transcends the ego, Gandhi would have needed parts of his ego to get him in position so to speak – the ego also transcends the soul and teaches the soul.

The ego being the vehicle for the soul. And the soul being the vehicle for the spirit, in Christianity referred to as The Holy Ghost. The body being the sweet ride.

I don’t point to the matrix of religion, I point to the esoteric of it, since Spirit is hugely overlooked and often confused as being the soul.

It’s a communication system:

The soul being in telepathic contact with the ego, as we awake and come to our senses.

The spirit being in telepathic contact with soul.

All thriving and longing for that healing place of tranquility and peace and beauty we have inside.

I find it a bit silly that so many see their ego as their enemy, since they don’t talk about the collective ego, but a huge part of themselves.

The last thing we want I think, is to alienate ourselves.

Never heard anybody say: ‘Whoa – I had the dark night of the Ego – very alchemistic!´

I hear a lot saying. ‘I´m having the dark night of the soul’ – so in our way of expressing ourselves we already know, that the matrix of the Ego versus the Soul – just might be a Matrix.

An improvement list is maybe much needed, I won’t be the judge of that, but seeing oneself as the spiritual enemy inside the gym of the ‘pumping spiritual iron’ movement – it won’t get anybody bloody anywhere – as probably intended.

Just another stigmatizing new age funky mind bender mechanic.

The soul takes on the finest qualities of the ego´s experiences and the scent of our soul will determine what is most suitable for it: None of the qualities I have mentioned holds any contradictions.

If we think that, it might be time for a revaluation, since we want to move on, not stigmatized by the concept of: My ego is a burden and not being seduced by the concept of a trouble free soul. It is not.

Our take on those mechanics will define our freedom and if we think that we are harboring entities that keep us in servitude and prison, well, we bought into the Matrix mechanic of us being our own worst problem.

It’s a  good market for self-hatred out there – both in the mainstream therapy quick fix and the more new-agei segment.

We have come this far – We are okay.

We need to go: ‘No, I´m not my own own worst enemy here – I´m my very best friend’ – and use the impact of that towards empowerment and not being tied up in a Matrix confined space of our ‘little annoying Ego’.

The quality of your Ego, the spices in your Soul and the wisdom of your Spirit has brought you to where you are.

Let them merge, transcend and put up battles – It is all good and we are way better off than we might think we are. I know that.

No need to put a good horse down – better teach it to serve you.
